Known as Aunty Lena. Lena said that the New York-Pennsylvania border ran through her house. The town hall supposedly was burned down and Lena said that her original birth certificate was destroyed in the fire.
Helena did not marry so called “Fred” and bore Harold F. in 1900 then married Wm Bennett in 1911.
Lena, the name was used in 1880 PA Census Record under father Obed Ames.
Research on her birth place was made that State Line Junction, NY was in Chemung County, Southport Township, 3 miles south of Elmira and 1 1/2 miles south-southwest of Southport, on the Pennsylvania RR line, with no population.
