Robert Stanley Ames was born to the union of Harold and Ruth Ames on February 24, 1931, in the City of Buffalo, New York. Robert attended Kenmore Senior High (NY) where he graduated in 1948. He attended U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1957. Then he stay at U.S. Naval Reserve from 1959 to 1992 as he was retired as Commander.

While Robert served U.S.N., he married Mary E. Davison in March 13, 1951 in Canal Zone, Panama. Together they had three children Donald, Sally and Harold and grandchildren Anthony Evans of Buffalo, NY, Nicole Ames of Regina, Saskatchewan, Justin Ames of Regina, Saskatchewan, Noah Cho of Burke, VA, Daniel Ames of Burke, VA, Kelsa T. Ames of Bluff City, TN, 2 deceased Jesse Evans & Jason Ames and great grandchildren Javin & Jordan Ames of Regina, Saskatchewan, (Kelsa''s daughter''s name?). He now leaves them to cherish his love.

Robert also leaves to cherish his memory his brother Richard A. Ames of North Tonawanda, NY.

Robert''s great pleasure in life was to be part of many organizations. His memberships were Life member, National Rifle Assn, AZ State Rifle and Pistol Assn, Naval Reserve Assn., Kiwanis Club of Big Bug Creek (AZ), Life member, Sportsman''s Gun Club, Chief Hunter Education Instructor for AZ Game and Fish Dept from 1979 to 2002.

Robert Stanley Ames died September 1, 2003. He was born February 24, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, to Harold F. and Ruth Mary Allen Ames. Bob graduated from Kenmore High School in N.Y. in 1948.

Bob retired in 1991 after nineteen years at Motorola as an engineering associate in Scottsdale. He also worked for GTE-Sylvania in Buffalo from 1957 thru 1972. Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1957 as an enlisted man. He was in the Naval Reserve from 1959 to 1992 and retired as Commander.

He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, The Arizona Wildlife Federation, Arizona State Rifle and Pistol Association and Sportsman''s Gun Club. He was a member of Mingus View Presbyterian Church, Kiwanis Club of Big Bug Creek, Naval Reserve Association, and Arizona Arms Association.

Bob served as a Chief Instructor in the Hunter Education Program for Arizona Game and Fish Department from 1979 thru 2002.

Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Davison Ames; two sons, Donald Robert Ames of Burke, Virginia, Harold Thomas Ames of Phoenix, Arizona; a daughter, Sally Jane M. Wyatt of Prescott Valley; a brother, Richard A. Ames of North Tonawanda, New York; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
